Welcome to Isle of Pines (Ile Des Pins)
Also known as “the closest island to Paradise”!
It won’t take you long to appreciate why this island has earned its’ title – picture perfect beaches and bays await you. Don’t forget to take your camera!
This small (15km x 13km) island lies off the south-east coast of Grand Terre and is part of New Caledonia.
Cruise Ships anchor in a sheltered bay, and a tender boat will bring you to the shore.
Be ready to be welcomed by the local people – often singing, dancing and in tribal costume.
The white sandy beaches are lined by tall native pine trees standing sentinel over the waters of a hundred shades of blue. Beneath the surface lies another world of coral and fish waiting to be discovered.
Wanting to experience more than just the beach? Fishing, hiking, traditional food, culture, and historical sites are all to be enjoyed here.
